Ishqiya| Episode 6 | Hamza Is Quiet For A Change

Alright, let’s review Ishqiya episode 6.

This episode felt quite dragged. This is only 6th episode and I am already feeling a bit meh about this one.

Check out the Cast and Characters before you read the review. It won’t make much sense otherwise. And, you can read previous episodes’ reviews here.

Saman and Khalid and worried and overact their way to glory as Hamza is still unconscious.

Hamna, on the other hand, is musalla-ridden. She’s praying for Hamza’s life in exchange of her own.

I know this is a drama but that is not now you pray or ask someone from Allah. Allah beshumar deta hai. Yeh exchange offer zaroori nahin.

Mrs Siddiqui isn’t oblivious to Hamna’s obvious depression but she blames it on the “fear of going to a new house”.

I like how the lovely song “mujhe dil se na bhulana” was incorporated in this episode. Nice song!

Hamna is going out with Azeem and talking to him over phone. In short, she seems to be adjusting with her new life.

Hamza isn’t recovering from the shock and silence. There are several montages  where his family, Alishaba and his friend from college try to cheer him up but he doesn’t move one muscle.

Once, when his sister is playing chess with him and says: your queen is gone. He smiles. Dayum!

Then, he speaks. “I want to take you to some place.”

Of course, his parents would do anything to please him now. So, they agree. Khalid gives Hamza’s proposal for Rumi. In fact, it is Hamza who says “we are here for Rumaisa.”

I stand corrected. Hamza isn’t marrying Rumi after memory loss. He is doing it full aware of his actions. War is on.

In this grave (and oft flashbacking scene), the only fun part is Rumi and her avatar right before meeting the guests.

I don’t remember if I said this before but even if I have, I will repeat, the actress (Maha Hasan, if I remember correctly) who plays Alishaba isn’t a good actor.

And, what is with the loud background music? Annoying!

So long!
