I have been meaning to post about this since ages. Something or the other always comes up; or I end up watching the drama again.
Zindagi Gulzar Hai is Umera Ahmed’s first book and it was published in 2010 by Ilm o Irfan Publishers.
I write because…why not? (Stories, reviews, rants and more)

Doosra Dozakh is one of those stories that will punch you in the gut and make your insides curl with pain. The dark-sarcasm laced narrative works in favour of the short story, making every line worth quoting.
Shehr-e-Zaat is one of those dramas that marry spirituality with popular fiction seamlessly. Umera Ahmed is a well-known name in the popular women fiction writing horizon and this is one of her best works. I stand corrected, all her work is great.
“Aisa Kabhi Nahin Hota” is a romantic comedy, something that we don’t expect from Umera. Self-admittedly, this is Umera’s only attempt at writing humour.
I understand that Alif is not just a novel, it is a phenomenon that has gripped the Urdu speaking people across the globe. I prefer not to watch the screen adaptation of a book. It is generally very loosely based on the original story and often the…
Introduction I love when I read a novel about writers, or watch a movie about actors. Umera had not written a novel post Aab-e-Hayaat, which was about 3-4 years ago. I remember that because I had just moved to my apartment, my own apartment, around that time. My sisters and I used to discuss the abrupt ending over a cup of tea until late in the night. Ah,…
The 12th and final episode is out. It is 29 pages long. I have included the link to read the episode online at the end of this post. Summary The episode is generally about tying the loose ends and there are some revelations. Don’t worry, I am not going to spoil the story for you….
