Zul Qa’da 26, 1447 AH
I’ve been meaning to write a hijri diary for a while. The seed of the idea came last year, before 1447 AH started, but then… I was focussing on something else entirely. Now that we’re almost starting 1448 AH, I have come to realize that the change should start small.
So, here it is.
Today, I took a day off. My 4 alarms went off, and I snoozed them, and snoozed off. Then, my mum came to wake me up, twice. Without opening my eyes, I looked for my phone. With eyes half-shut, I sent a OOO message, and then slepy. My sister came to wake me up, twice, three times, four times. Then, they both gave up on me. I turned, twisted, fell asleep, woke up, sipped water, fell asleep again. When I finally was awake enough to think, the first thought was:
It must be past noon. I wonder why Ammi hasn’t come to wake me up again.
This time, I looked for my phone with open eyes.
2:24 PM
Whaaaat?????
So, basically, sleep has been accumulating for this week, and I needed almost nine hours of sleep from 5:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
I have not felt so fresh in a while. I guess I should do this once in two weeks, take a day off, sleep without any alarm, and just ake up when I feel like, not because I HAVE to.
Jumua Mubarak!
