Chand Tara Episode 7 Written Update & Review

This drama has several subplots but let’s focus on the two romantic “young” couples. I say young, because Mateen and Mehnaz’s romance never ends, nor do Mateen and Saffo hesitate from showing their love for each other. I can’t say if I am entirely onboard with the idea of such in-your-face romance by elders. Don’t get me wrong, I do agree that romance and spark should always be there irrespective of age. I just don’t want like the way these people flaunt it. And it is all supposed to be funny. Not really, not for me. This isn’y my cuppa romance.

So, let’s focus on the two couple, shall we?

Chand & Tara

Tara is upset with her mother for kinda insulting Saffo’s pregnancy at such age. She threatens to go for specialization , away from her mother and father.

For her, it must have been an outburst, but for Dr Raziya, it is the million dollar idea. She changes her mind about Saarim’s proposal, changes her behaviour towards Saarim; her tone, her words everything changes. Long story short, she is ready for the wedding (Saarim and Tara’s) if they get married and move to US within a week.
WITHIN A WEEK!

Of course, Saarim is elated to hear this. He doesn’t mind moving out of his house, out of his country as long as he gets to marry Tara. Now, this is where a little conflict arises.

Both the families are gathered at Tara’s house for a dinner. The truth comes out. Tara gives a long monologue of sorts talking about the merits of a joint family system. Saarim’s family is touched, Chand and Tara are mad each other, but the proposal is apparently still on.

Hashir and Rumi

I don’t know what is makers’ obsession with tiktok. I don’t know what is people’s obsession with tiktok. Do you know what I mean? Apparently, tiktok and Instagram and social media frenzy is so important that almost every drama has a social media addict. Bahot zyada annoying hai.

Speaking of annoying, Rumi and her mother kinda force that Hashir and family arrange for a rukhsati, stat. Long story short, the family is now planning for a wedding. They don’t have to put in a lot of effort for the preparations, though, because it’s also their business.

Review

This drama is madness, and I don’t necessarily mean in a good way. There are too many characters, too many subplots, too many things going on.

1. joint family vs nuclear family: Tara and Chand
2. social media evil: Rumi and Hashir
3. girls aspiring to be a sportsperson: Maala
4. Late-age pregnancy: Saffo
5. Late-age romance: Naaz and Mateen

And that band playing constantly, uff… I watch dramas to relax and this drama kinda feels like a chore to me, you know. I don’t know how long I would watch it. To be honest, I kinda want to drop it from my list.

That was the rant/review/my take on the latest episode of Chand Tara. How do others feel about this episode?
