A little recap of episode 19 of Sinf-e-Aahan

The shooting competition is on. Periwesh is the only LC to be shortlisted for the semis. Subuk, Sardar’s son is also one of the finalists. Will Periwesh fulfill her dream of winning a competition at PMA? Let’s find out in this episode.

Sinf-e-Aahan episode 20 written update and review

What was with yesterday and all the dramas? Every episode I watched, I cried like a baby.

I watched Chaudhry and Sons’ episode 7 and cried buckets, what’s with Sabahat’s story and all.

Then I watched Sinf-e-Aahan and cried some more, because of the whole scene in Balochistan.

And then I watched one and a half episode of Dil-e-Momin, and I cried: why am I watching this again?

I sometimes become an emotional fool, attaching myself too much to the fictional people.

Anywho, with that rant, let’s get started.

Periwesh and Subuk are now head-to-head in the finals. Both are doing just fine. Two of the officers suggest that they should swap their guns. After that, one candidate misses a bullet, the other one doesn’t.

Nope, it wasn’t Periwesh to miss a bullet.

Periwesh wins the competition, and in a rare moment of realization, I admitted that Ramsha Khan might be capable of showing some emotions. She looked triumphant and vulnerable at the same time.

I also like the little conversation between Subuk and Periwesh. My mind also wandered… Being a romantic, when I see two people, I have an urge to ship them. So, i was thinking, just thinking, could Subuk and Periwesh be a thing? Just saying.

But no, this wasn’t where the crying began. It came much later, after Periwesh reaches her home and meets her family.

Sardar returns Jamal’s land papers, and also gifts Periwesh a rifle (some sort of gun, I’m not an expert in that area, hehe). That scene set the tears rolling until one of my pillows was soaked with my tears. Umera Ahmad does what she does best. She writes small dialogues that convey a lot. For instance, Subuk reminds his father that PMA only runs on merit. And then Sardar and Periwesh’s conversation…

Sardar: Tum ne Subuk ko hara diya.

Periwesh: Maine PMA ka competition jeeta hai.

Yaani mujhe aapke bete mein koi interest nahin hai. It isn’t personal.

But then, on a side note, wouldn’t it be fun if there was something personal? Very very well done.

The rest of the episode was all about celebrations, and that LCs get a weekend off. All the cadets have changed, and so have their circumstances. Mahjabeen has become more grateful of things, while Shaista’s family and community is more accepting of her. Waise that scene when an uncle comes to talk to Shaista about process to join army seemed forced. People are onboard with girls in PMA, we get it. Don’t rub it in our faces now.

By the way, seeing Usman Mukhtar after a long time was nice. Why don’t we have more of Daniyal?

And the biggest bawl of mine came when Shaista talked to Kamil over phone. Oh, I cry, I cry, I cry… I might be sentimental, but don’t be so judgemental…

Shaista has now realized what a gem Kamil is. This phone conversation as well as their talk in the car was the best, the best thing to have happened in Sinf-e-Aahan. I love how Shaista bosses around Kamil and he simply accepts her quirks with a (wicked) smile. Junaid Jamshed Niazi and Yumna Zaidi and their crackling chemistry, uff, the episode’s end was just toooo good.

This episode was so so enjoyable. I am eagerly waiting for the next. Until we meet again…
