Introduction

HUM TV’s drama serial Mere Ban Jao is a story of love, trust, deceit and repercussions. Featuring the versatile Zahid Ahmed, Kinza Hashmi and Azfar Rehman in lead roles, the serial conveys a very important message related to the use of social media, repercussions of blind trust and sharing of personal and intimate moments online without realizing the disaster it can cause and the impact it can have on one’s life. Produced under the banners of Moomal Entertainment and MD Productions, the serial is written by Samira Fazal and directed by Ahmed Kamran. Starting from January 11, 2023, the serial also features Rabia Naureen, Ayesha Gul, Fazila Qazi, Qaiser Nizamani, Hira Tareen, Noman Habib, Afraz Rasool and others.

Mere Ban Jao Episode 2 Written Update & Review

We don’t know what happened between Fardeen and Azmiya over that video call but it must be something awful because

a. the opening scene of this drama had established the same.

b. Azmiya recalls the same scene and her mother’s wise words

“Yeh maamlaat bade nazuk hote hain,” Salma told Nighat.

Salma and Hassan do some shopping for Azmiya. I don’t know why, but Hassan’s words for Azmiya sounded more like taunts and less like affection. Anyone else felt that way? No? Just me then.

Azmiya complains about Zaki that he told not to marry Fardeen. This doesn’t sit well with Salma and she decided to have a word with Hajra.

Salma insults Hajra about Zaki’s deeds even though Hajra explains the situation. At home, Hajra confronts Zaki and forces to apologize. Painful scene to watch… It was a subtle commentary on class difference and all… Zaki and Nadra argue about Nadra’a proposal. This sibling duo always fights, we have established that already.

Later, Aslam and Zaki discuss Azmiya. Zaki knows what he’s doing is wrong, but not loving Azmiya is not in his power, or so he claims. Sab jhoot baat hai. Once you set your heart onto something, all you do is think about the same. Once you set your mind off something, you will feel nothing about the same. That’s my experience, but it ain’t my story. 

The rishta aunty Rabeya has brought a watta satta rishta for Zaki and Nadra for two years older woman. Nadra is simply against Zaki. She even agrees to marry the guy without knowing anything about the guy.

Zaki and Nighat argue. Zaki was there to apologize but he doesnt take insults from anyone.

Azmiya is worries about the video… Fardeen consoles azmiya but his character give s very sir Zafar vibe (aakhir kab tak)

In the .arket, mobile snatchers in the car (why was it unlocked?)

“Zaki!” she calls.

And the episode ends.

Review

As I said before, I don’t like the theme. I commend that Hum TV is addressing this evil of our society, but am I thrilled to watch it on screen? Not really.

Zahid is acing his role and his accent, but that’s the only good part. I am not too thrilled about this drama only because of it’s dark theme.
