Winter Love Episode 7 Written Update and Review

This is post #7373. For some reason, I think it’s important to note it.

Mushk is upset with her family for creating her profile on her own app; Hayat is upset with his family for creating his profile on some app. I don’t like the symmetry of their lives.

I don’t know about others but Anu is super annoying character (as was Fazal Bakhsh whose name Shahmeer (or whatever Bilal’s real name was) borrowed to meet at Dure’s house in Ishq Murshid. That was one reason I dumped Ishq Murshid. Ali Gul Mallah and Dur-e-Fishan. I didn’t like either. Overacting ki dukaan. Even Bilal was a notch bleh in that drama.

Coming back to this show, the interaction between Hayat and Anu about Mushk wanting an event planned was so stretched, so much that elasticity turned into plasticity. There’s a thing that standup comedian talk about. They set up there jokes like first beat a small joke, gets a laugh; second beat, better joke, bigger laugh; third beat… And so on. They say this to explain one thing: You should know where to stop. This team apparently didn’t. Wahi baat ki “arey aap busy ho toh koi baat nahin” repeated so many times. It wasn’t even a different beat. Did they expect to get a bigger laugh every time? Or did they just want to increase run time? I would have preferred a shorter and crisper episode. Too agitated to watch this episode. What the heck!

Okay, ten minutes of crushing candies did no good, so I’m back.

Hayat goes to talk to Mushk. She goes from zero to hundred in a nanosecond just because he smiled. Why so much pressure. 25 people RSVPd. How hard is it to arrange a meet-n-greet for 25 people? Even if it is a formal event? Rai ka parbat banana koi in se seekhe (ya Ibn-e-Safi ka novel padhe).

And he follows her, as is now the norm: I won’t go to USA if you say so. Areyyyyyy? Itni kab forward ho gaya sab?

Anyway, so a montage of preparations. Hayat goes home, to change and wears that check wali shirt? Zark at home was more formally dressed with that black jacket and all. I can’t be the only one to notice this, am I? I guess I’m nitpicking, then.

The event is a success. And Hayat has ensured that he can drop Mushk home. A very small moment between them. The shayari bit was nice.

Review

Before I forget, this is what I have been wanting to say about Khushhal Khan since last couple of weeks. Second of all, he needs to work in his talaffuz, a lot. He’s shown to be a character who loves reading literature and classic and reciting verses on every occasion. In the other episode, he said something by Allama Iqbal and I couldn’t even recognize the verse, that’s how poor his delivery was. Today’s “nagri nagri phira musafir” was okay. But I have to say: hoda kuch seekho yaar. Sirf talk and fair hone se kya fayeda. But banda hai bada sohna. Rajj ke ekdum.

First of all, he seems perpetually high (not to offend anyone) whether he’s acting or IRL. I saw an interview jismein he was so hyper, I was like, bhai, ek glass pani pi aur let ja thodi der.

And bonus point: what’s all the fuss about him getting married to Ramsha Khan? Last week, everywhere I go, it was like breaking news. Shaadi ki hai, kya breaking news hai?

Okay, so that was on Khushhal. Mawra, like I said before, doesn’t fit for this hyper sensitive and make-no-sense FMC after being a “reasonable” FMC for so long. She may be trying variety but not working.

And that’s the episode. Yday, I was in no mood to watch this or Dr Bahu. So this review is a day too late. I’m sorry, I guess?
