Zanjeerain Episode 29 Written Update and Review
The Revelation
I knew it. Sohrab was one step ahead of Sar Buland and he takes full advantage of it: he takes Bibi Jaan to see Sar Buland: Sar Buland was in Zarmala’s room, on her bed, Zarmala standing next to him. The shock is too much and both stay there, looking ashamed. Bibi Jaan is shocked, Noor is stunned and Sohrab is triumphant. Me? I’m just thinking where did he enter the room from? Darwaza toh lock hota thha na?
Sohrab acted very well, trying to contain his hatred towards Sar Buland, thinking its nearly over. The actor is tremendously talented.
Sohrab raises hand on Sar Buland, Sar Buland stops him and so does Bibi Jaan. Sohrab does what he does best, says shitty things, demands for a jirga, tells Bibi Jaan to never forget Sar Buland else Bano would be hurt. And then he leaves.
Zafran’s Dilemma
After being humiliated by Torsam Khan, Zafran Khan is hurt, wounded, disturbed. It’s time for revenge. He doesn’t know what Torsam is after but he knows something cooking. As always, good to see OG romance hero on screen. Yes, I’m a huge Adnan Siddiqui fan. Have you watched Mere Humdum Mere Dost? Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Bey-NishaaN? Hold that though, I’ll try to list all his dramas some time.
The Jirga
Sohrab and Zargoon arrive at the Jirga in full swag. His walk. Ufff… 11 out of 10.
Then Sar Buland makes his entry, not as impressive. Sohrab doesn’t stand up for Sardar.
The jirga was very well written and beautifully executed. Attack, counter attack, Hakeemullah Khan being a strict jirga head, reprimanding Sohrab repeatedly.
Sohrab: why didn’t you inform the elders before?
Sar Buland: because I was new. Why didn’t you guide me?
Mic drop!
Sohrab brings his next card: revealing who Zarmala is, and questioning Sar Buland about it. Sar Buland accepts, calmly. Yes, she’s Rabiya and my friend Mudassir’s widow.
The back and forth continues, Sohrab blames Sar Buland for Bano’s death, Sar Buland blames Sohrab for being a traitor. And then after a small monologue, the jirga agrees that what Sar Buland did was right given the circumstances but…
But…
He can’t live with a na-mehram like that, nor can he abandon Zarmala, so…
Nikaah…
Haan, yeh thik hai.
Yeh munasib faisla hai.
Aapki baat sahi hai…
All the jirga members agree to this.
Rabiya and Shirin
Shirin comes to taunt our heroine, who doesn’t give two hoots about it. Rabiya has more than a handful of tricks up her sleeves to deal with bullies like Shirin. I liked this scene very much.
Rabiya and Sar Buland
Late at night, Sar Buland comes to see Rabiya, confides in her, informs about the jirga proceedings, and then says: ham dono ko nikaah karna hoga.
