Book Review: Alif – Episode #6 (By Umera Ahmed)

The sixth episode is out.

The episode starts with a letter from Sultan to Husn-e-Jehan. It reveals that the names of their kids Momin and Momina were pre-decided. It is evident that Sultan was not just a makeup artist for Husn-e-Jehan, but also an admirer and loved her. It also hints on a mistake of Husn-e-Jehan. Curiosity builds here.

Most of the episode shows Qalb-e-Momin annoincing a movie on spirituality and everybody taking a step back from the movie. The brands the lead actors the costume designer. Even his own team Teena and Dawood have doubts about this idea of the new film. The team of writers instill a huge doubt in him about spirituality and Allah.

The same doubt is inflicted in the reader too.

Momin goes to meet his grandpa to seek the answer, an answer that most of us know, but feel spellbound to speak about.

The episode also shows that Momina is getting success knew after the other albeit incidentally. And Momin is sort of amazed by her.

That’s where the episode ends. Damn, another month of wait.
