Kara Para Ask | Cast, Characters and Relationships

The show spans over 54 episodes – each 120-130 minutes long. That’s a LOT.

It is very important to know all the characters and their relationships, cuz it a mess and it a maze. I love alliteration.

This is only a short summary that I am writing to brief about the characters. I will be updating it from time to time, if I get time.  I love repetition, too.

Burhan Demir

A jeweller and an honest man. He was killed by someone when his kids were still young.

Güler Ökten as Elvan Demir

Burhan’s wife. The glue that holds the Demirs together. She is an epitome of calmness and goodness.

Engin Akyürek as Ömer Demir

Our protagonist. A police officer, a man who loves his family and his job equally.

Burak Tamdoğan as Hüseyin Demir

The elder son of Burah and Elvan; elder brother of Omer, and has almost acted like a father to him.

Elif İnci as Melike Demir

Huseyin’s wife. A typical woman who likes to gossip, crib and gossip some more.

Damla Çolbay as Demet Demir

Huseyin’s daughter. She is shown to be fascinated with riches and the money. When Elif and Omer were getting married, she doesn’t even stop from stealing from their house and is caught. She is later employed at the Denizer’s company.

Hassan Demir

Huseyin’s son.

Burhan Demir Jr.

Huseyin’s son from his other wife Svetlana.

Aytaç Arman as Ahmet Denizer

A businessman on the surface, he is involved in neck-deep shit of money laundering and other crimes.

Nebahat Çehre as Zerrin Denizer

A typical high-class woman portrayal. She is arrogant. She is demanding. She is bossy. She is rude. She is clean. She has no dark secrets. A rarity in this series.

Hazal Türesan as Aslı Denizer

Asli is the eldest of the three daughters of Ahmet and Zerrin. She is hyper, a bit cynic, likes drama. She was initially shown to have some psychological issues. She is married to Taner and has a son Can from the marriage.

Tuba Büyüküstün as Elif Denizer

Our female protagonist. A jeweller, a businesswoman, the love interest of Omer Demir. She is a truly and passionately loving sister and takes every step to protect her family from the evil. She does money laundring, she lies, she fabricates the truth.

Bestemsu Özdemir as Nilüfer Denizer

The youngest of the Denizer sisters and the most spoilt, too. When Elif and Nilufer are kidnapped by Fateh, a strange relationship forms between them – which starts with a Sotckholm syndrome and over a period of time, changes the course of the series. If it wasn’t for Fateh and Nilufer; the series would have been quite dull.

Işıl Yücesoy as Nedret Denizer

The good aunt – who is in fact pure evil. She appears out of nowhere and gets complete control of the household and the business, when Elif is in no condition to object.  Later, the dark realities about her are revealed. She is an accomplice of the Dundar’s, in short.

Erkan Can as Tayyar Dündar

Doctor Tayyar Dundar – a doctor, a businessman, an anthropologist who helps young students by offering them scholarship.

That’s on the surface.

In reality, he is involved in money laundring, drugs, smuggling, organ mafia and kills without even blinking.

Oh my god!

The man is evil personified. He is cunning, he is is manipulative, he has people working for him EVERYWHERE. He knows everything. Damn!

Saygın Soysal as Metin/Fatih Dündar

Fatih is Tayyar’s illegitimate son, he’s the elder son of Tayyar in that sense. Fatih’s father and Tayyar are brothers. Tayyar rapes his brother’s wife that is Fatih’s mom. When she talks about it, Tayyar cuts her tongue to keep her quiet. Cruel, brutal, gruesome? Right.

Young Fateh witnesses it from the wondw and tolerates it all his life, to avenge his father eventually.

Metin and Fatih were equally likable in the series. I loved him more than Omer. He brought the comedy, the rough romance, and the sharp instincts to the screen.

Ali Yörenç as Mert Dündar

The younger Dundar. He loves Nilufer and is shown to be obsessed about her. Later, when he learns the truth about his father, he leaves the house and starts a new life of his own. He gets a job at Denizer’s. Eventually falls for Demet and gets engaged to her towards the end. His was the most evolved character in the series.

Bedia Ener as Fatma Andaç

Selin Ortaçlı as Sibel Andaç

Omer’s fiancee.

Ahmet Tansu Taşanlar as Arda Çakır

Omer’s buddy, a police officer and the most comic character of the series.

İlkin Tüfekçi as Pelin Serter

Omer’s buddy, a police officer and the most composed and reasonable of the trio – Omer / Arda / Pelin.

Öykü Karayel as İpek

Ahem, Omer had another fiance. There was Ipek, then Sibel and then Elif. Ipek is also a police officer. Towards the end, when she is tailing Nedret, she is fatally wounded and dies, but also leaves a hints about the murderer.

Tuvana Türkay as Bahar Çınar

A girl from a modest background who is helped by the Denizer’s and is later employed too. She is ambitious, but Zerrin never fails to remind her of her humble background. She is determined to make money and get a good life. She doesn’t even shy away from sharing her boyfriend with Elif.

Emre Kızılırmak as Levent İnanç

Bahar’s boyfriend. He starts flirting with Elif on Bahar’s suggestion, but is later shown to have fallen for Elif for real.

Serkan Kuru as Taner

The good looking son-in-law, who cares for Asli, too, but doesn’t love her. He has an extra-marital affair.

Bülent Çankaya as Deputy Security Chief of Van
Hatice Andaç as Hatice

Deniz Barut as Pinar

The mistress of Tayyar Dundar – on surface. In reality, she loved Taner and they have plans to extract money, steal the diamonds from the Denizers / Dundars and run away.

Deniz knows Omer from their college. Both Omer and Pinar try to blackmail each other. Pinar finally succumbs to the pressure and agrees to help Omer and spy on Tayyar. She is the one who first finds out that there is CD with Huseyin’s name on it, in Tayyar’s safe. She is safely moved to a different city and moved from the series. I was surprised when she wasn’t killed. Cuz everybody else was.

Kerimhan Duman as Can

Taner and Asli’s son.

Happy watching!

  1. Tayyar raped his brother’s wife, Fatih’s mother. I’m sorry for the spoiler about Ipek 🙁

  2. Maria Campbell says:

So actually you are saying that Fatih is NOT Tayyar’s son but his brother’s. You confused me! Besides I’m just starting episode 46 and Ipek is still alive and kicking. Now I know her destiny.

  3. You’re right. It was supposed to be a twist. Spoiler alert 🙂

  4. Adesina Afolabi says:

Can is not Taner and Asli son but Asli son from a relationship before marrying Taner

  5. No, they are not related. Cousin, boss, and other terms of endearment are used sarcastically as the two old man taunt each other.

  6. ellen says:

can someone share the origins of the relationship between Huseyin Demir and Taayar Dundar? Taayar refers to him as “cousin”. Are they related? How did Taayar drag him into being a dirty cop?

  7. Yep, but I wanted the audience to find it on their own. Well, now they know. What other dramas do you like?

  8. VM Ali says:

Can is actually not the son of Taner and Asli but Asli and her 1st husband.

  9. Jean Shirley says:

Thank you for the many hours of entertainment!
