Aik Mohabbat Aur | Episode 2

About Aik Mohabbat Aur

Aik Mohabbat Aur is a story of Khushbakht, a strong and determined ACP officer who has already seen the painful side of love. After a love marriage that couldn’t survive the test of time, she returns to her parents home with her young daughter and the scars of a broken relationship. Instead of comfort, she finds herself living under constant judgment, where her presence is often seen as a burden rather than a daughter seeking support. These experiences slowly make her lose faith in love and companionship.

On the other side is Haroon, A principled journalist who believes in truth and depth rather than superficial choices. Pressured by his mother to settle down, He struggles to find someone who truly connects with his heart and values. His life takes an unexpected turn when a case brings him face to face with ACP Khushbakht.

While working around the same investigation, Haroon is drawn to Khushbakht’s courage, dignity and the silent strength with which she carries her past. For Haroon, it becomes love but for Khushbakht, love is a chapter she believes has already ended. Now begins Haroon’s emotional journey to break the walls around Khushbakht’s heart and prove that sometimes life gives a second chance.

Aik Mohabbat Aur Episode 2 Written Recap and Review

In this episode, we learn that Haroon and Khushbakht have more in common: both had been setup to marry their cousins (Maham and Haseeb respetively), and both made sure ki un ki bala kisi aur ke sar jaye (Faris and Seema respectively).

As for the events of the episode, after being shot, Haroon gives a statement that it was an intentional murder attempt on him (lies, lies, all lies). Khushbakht is asked to meet Haroon formally, and she does, only to find the “patient” stuffing his mouth with food and jumping like a monkey. I liked that meeting, especially from Khushbakht’s point of view, particularly her stoic, deadpan face that clearly says: I’m not here out of choice.

Haseeb keeps on suggesting that he might do good with other women surrounding him. He also teases Khushbakht occasionally. I don’t about Seema, but sooner or later, this repetitive teasing will get to my nerves; if I survive this drama that far.

The rest of the episode was just Haroon trying to be witty and Khushbakht ignoring him, putting him in his place.

Review

I’ll be honest. I’m not liking Haroon Malik, gives a very immature Hayat-like vibe, kinda like clumsy, childish heroine trope subverted (reminds me of Dananeer in Meem se Mohabbat, or Dananeer in every drama). I don’t like it.

I also don’t like Haroon is always eating; always talking with food in his mouth. I don’t understand why people do it in real life. I don’t understand why many male characters are doing it (another recent occurrence was in Bas Tera Saath Ho). Is Brad Pitt’s Rusty from Ocean Eleven an inspiration? He pulled it off, these chaps don’t. Don’t effing do it. And it’s for this reason (Annoying male character with annoying habits) that makes me think I will NOT survive this drama. I love Khushbakht so far, but would that be enough? Also, too many characters, therefore too many stories… I’m apprehensive, but will still give it a try next week.

As I said before, I don’t have high hopes from this. I’m setting it up for 5 episodes, MAX.
