Mein Episode 17 Written Review

Assalamualaikum dear followers,

It’s Shabana Mukhtar back with the recap and review of the latest episode of Mein.

Winter has begun.

So, Fakhar let’s Zaid join his firm so he can rub Asif’s face in it. He does a press release to make a huge announcement.

And this has an impact.

So much!

Ayera gets a call from her prospective employer. Being a woman has finally paid off because her employer is also a woman.

Zaid brings some groceries to Ayera’s home. He breaks the news and I so loved it when he said “we need this job”. Ayera also informs about her job. Zaid isn’t thrilled to hear this, of course. Their conversation was so interesting, like when both are right and you can’t decide enos wrong.

Kashmala is expecting, and Mubashshara’s marriage is breaking apart. She ruins the celebratory moment as usual. Mubashshara is becoming too much to handle now. I mean, she is vulnerable but she created this mess for herself, didn’t she? It’s hard to sympathize with her all the time, but I do feel for her “sometimes”.

For instance, my heart went out for her when Zaid threatened Mubashshara at the mall. Aisi bhi kitni anaa?

Oh, by the way, Zaid had earlier threatened to divorce Mubashshara on Amir’s chehlam. And now she’s freaking out. She wants her marriage to work, desperately, for all the wrong reasons, or are those right reasons.

Zaid comes to tell Asiya that he has arranged for Amir’s chehlam (40 days post his death, Qur’an khwani etc are done). He also requests Ayera to not go to Sakhar (I’m not sure if this is the right spelling).

Zaid’s friend (what’s his name?) suggests that Ayera’s demand of Zaid’s family agreeing to the marriage is a “selfish demand”. Kyu bhai? Was her ask so huge? It wasn’t a selfish ask.

Zaid: I can’t say if I love Ayera anymore but I will marry her to give her the sense of safety and security she had felt in Amir’s presence.

Now, that’s called “commitment”. Zaid is the ultimate hero for Ayera and the ultimate villian for Mubashshara. It’s so convoluted. To hate him or not to hate him, that is the question.

Until next time, fellow drama addicts! Stay tuned for more twists, turns, and reviews.
