Jannat Se Aagay | Episode 11

Jannat Se Aagay

“Jannat Se Aagay” explores the themes of identity, personal aspirations, and the potential consequences of idolizing others. The story follows the journey of Jannat and Tabassum as they navigate their dreams, relationships, and the inherent challenges of discovering their true selves.

Tabassum is a beautiful and compassionate young girl. She selflessly takes care of everyone in her family and even supports them financially by giving tuition to children from her neighbourhood. While she leads a simple life, there is one thing that brings her immense joy and inspiration: watching Jannat’s morning show on television.

Jannat Ali Khan is the host of the morning show that Tabassum adores. She considers Jannat her idol and attempts to emulate her style and mannerisms. On the other hand, Jannat who influences the lives of thousand of such girls with a façade of grandeur is empty on the inside.

Will Jannat be able to fill her inner void? Will Tabassum’s dream to become someone else cause her to lose her own identity? Will Tabassum discover the importance of being true to oneself, or will she get lost in becoming an idealized version of someone else?

Jannat Se Aagay Episode 11 Written Update and Review

Hey there, drama enthusiasts! Shabana Mukhtar here, all set to break down the latest episode of “Jannat Se Aagay,” where the whirlwind of events keeps us on our toes.

Recap

This is a bit late, but I will try to do my best. Without delaying one bit, let’s dive in.

The Marital Woe Continues

Jannat is home, trying to reach out to every friend of Noman’s in an attempt to track her husband, who’s been missing for the past two days.

When Noman comes home, Jannat suggests eating dinner together, or going out, but he doesn’t show any interest. Come on, man! Put in some effort into this relationship.

Just look at Jannat. She’s heartbroken.

Later that night, she asks Noman why is he behaving the way he is.

Jannat: I’m doing this for you.

Noman: Don’t say that you’re doing this for us. All we want is you.

Much later that night, Noman’s words ring in Jannat’s ears. But we all know she wouldn’t leave her work. No freaking way.

Farooq’s Misery

Farooq has had enough of vellapanti, I guess and is now ready to take a job. I guess he has realized that Tabassum would never marry a lukhha guy like him. He gives his resume to Jannat. Yet again, Jannat is touched by Farooq’s uncondtional and unadulterated love for Tabassum. Jiske paas jo nahin hota, wahi accha lagta hai. If you ask me, Farooq is quite annoying.

Tabassum’s Arrogance

Working for Jannat, Tabassum has picked a thing or two from Jannat, especially her arrogance. The driver is late and Tabassum lashes at the driver. In this case, however, the driver retorts with a befitting reply. Loved this scene, especially Tabassum’s pursed lips afterwards.

Noman’s Dubious Morality

It isn’t clear if he’s living in with Zara now, but he’s eating breakfast at her place. He also mentions that before marrying Zara, or even meeting her parents, he needs to establish his business. To establishing his business, he needs money. And, to get some investments, he needs Jannat’s help. This is a long and twisted plan. Just look at Zara when Noman says that he needs to “befriend her”. The hurt is visible. I don’t know why Zara is keeping up with a douche like Noman. Honestly, if it wasn’t Gauhar Rasheed essaying the character, Noman is just a whiny guy.

Tabassum’s Ethics Are Questioned

Tabassum sees an open drawer with a lot of “dollaran” in it. We see her take the money.

Later, when Jannat comes home, she is upset to notice the missing currency.

She asks Tabassum.

And Tabassum wins Jannat’s heart by showing her loyalty.

This scene was just to throw us off, to show that Tabassum wouldn’t do anything to break Jannat’s trust. But deep down, these are all foreshadowing events that would finally lead to a big conflict when Tabassum stabs Jannat in the back.

From saying “Your home is my home” to trying Jannat’s outfits to eating the imported goods that is exclusively for Jannat; she has been peeling off her layers little by little. It’s just a matter of time for “Et Tu Brute” moment.

Jannat’s Perception of Tabassum

Needless to say, that Jannat now blindly trusts Tabassum. This “dollaran in the drawer” was a test to check for Tabassum’s loyatly. Happy with Tabassum, she sits down Tabassum and offers to help. She doesn’t want Tabassum to delay her marriage, though.

After grocery shopping, Jannat gives the expired products to Tabassum, and the family enjoys their little feast. Fun times.

Tabassum’s Dilemma

Tabassum is still cherishing the luxury of working for Jannat. She has gained Jannat’s trust, and is now conflicted. She wants to help Nammo for her jahez.

The episode ends as she eyes some of Jannat’s dresses. Would she steal a few? We don’t know yet.

Review

Umair is doing that thing where she makes us question our moral. Every character seems right.

  • Jannat wants to do right by her family by providing the best to them, but she isn’t right to expect that just the luxury can win her family over. It’s obviously not working.
  • Noman is right  in seeking his wife’s time, even though he isn’t right to blame EVERYTHING on Jannat and having an extramarital affair.
  • Tabassum is right in her desires to “fix” the financial situation of her family. She’s also right for not giving any “bhao” to Farooq because Islam doesn’t encourage that. Sadly, Islamic values are not the reason Tabassum gives Farooq a cold shoulder.
  • Farooq… I guess he is in love and his fierce loyalty towards Tabassum is very sweet for some peopele, especially Jannat. However, I think that he is the most problematic character. He has one thing and only one thing in mind-Tabassum. His mother feeds him, like literally apne hath se khana khilati hai. The dude leaves job one after the other. Is Tabassum wrong to reject him? Mohabbat se pet nahin bharta na?

Anywho… This drama is quite intriguing and makes me wait for the next episode. At the same time, it is also painful to watch at times. You know what  I mean?

Until next time, happy drama watching, my friends!
