Jannat Se Aagay | Episode 2

Jannat Se Aagay

“Jannat Se Aagay” explores the themes of identity, personal aspirations, and the potential consequences of idolizing others. The story follows the journey of Jannat and Tabassum as they navigate their dreams, relationships, and the inherent challenges of discovering their true selves.

Tabassum is a beautiful and compassionate young girl. She selflessly takes care of everyone in her family and even supports them financially by giving tuition to children from her neighbourhood. While she leads a simple life, there is one thing that brings her immense joy and inspiration: watching Jannat’s morning show on television.

Jannat Ali Khan is the host of the morning show that Tabassum adores. She considers Jannat her idol and attempts to emulate her style and mannerisms. On the other hand, Jannat who influences the lives of thousand of such girls with a façade of grandeur is empty on the inside.

Will Jannat be able to fill her inner void? Will Tabassum’s dream to become someone else cause her to lose her own identity? Will Tabassum discover the importance of being true to oneself, or will she get lost in becoming an idealized version of someone else?

Jannat Se Aagay Episode 2 Written Update and Review

Ah, the latest episode of “Jannat Se Aagay” has left us with a roller coaster of emotions, my fellow drama enthusiasts. Let’s dive right into the whirlpool of events that have unfolded in this riveting installment.

Asghar’s Shattered Dreams

The episode unfurls with Asghar’s dreams of a job in Dubai being shattered like a fragile glass. In a gut-wrenching twist, he threatens the unthinkable – ending his own life. This move, driven by desperation, shakes the very foundation of Tabassum’s world. Tabassum, ever so emotionally tethered to Asghar, pens a heartfelt letter to none other than Jannat, believing that our enigmatic protagonist holds the key to solving all problems.

Farooq’s Predicament

Meanwhile, in another corner of this complex narrative, Farooq’s dreams suffer a cruel blow as he loses his job yet again. This not only dashes his own aspirations but also puts a damper on his hopes of marrying Tabassum in the near future. Nevertheless, Farooq’s love for Tabassum is unwavering, and he goes to great lengths to arrange a pass for Jannat’s show, a birthday gift for his beloved.

Tabassum’s Escapade

But it’s Tabassum who takes the spotlight next, as we witness another one of her escapades into the realm of make-believe. She indulges in a pretend Jannat show, a poignant yet seemingly necessary endeavor for her to live a life akin to that of her idol.

Asiya’s Lies

The episode puts a spotlight on Tabassum’s youngest sister, Asiya. Asiya’s actions pique our curiosity, as she accepts money from Bitto and spins a web of lies to extract more from her mother. There’s an air of mystery around her character, hinting that there’s much more beneath the surface yet to be unveiled.

Meanwhile, Farooq’s hopes of securing a pass are dashed, leaving him visibly disheartened. As the narrative unfolds, Tabassum’s gesture of sending a birthday card and bouquet to Jannat adds a layer of complexity to her character. Farooq takes it upon himself to deliver the gifts to the studio, leading to a meeting that could potentially have unforeseen consequences.

The Visit to Dargah

A pivotal scene follows as Tabassum and Shabnam visit a dargah. Shabnam’s prayer wishlist includes aspirations like a job for Azhar and a chance to perform Hajj. On the other hand, Tabassum’s desire remains consistent – the opportunity to meet Jannat. This steadfast focus on her wish echoes the patterns found in Umera Ahmed’s heroines, often depicted as driven by an intense obsession.

Favourite Scene

With each passing episode, “Jannat Se Aagay” continues to weave a tale that’s both enigmatic and engrossing. The unfolding of characters like Asiya adds layers to the storyline, while Tabassum’s unwavering pursuit of her goal sets the stage for an intriguing dynamic with Jannat. As the plot thickens, the drama’s mysteries deepen, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating the revelations that lie ahead.

The best scene of this episode has to be the Fajr prayer time when Tabassum asks for a chance to meet Jannat, the next scene shows Shabana translating a verse from Surah Bani Israil

Although, the Arabic verse isn’t used, it doesn’t take much to identify the verse. I’m not expert in arabic, but I remember this verse, because it’s my WhatsApp status. I remember this verse because it stayed with me the first time I read it.

Where, you ask?

In Umera’s novel.

Umera has used this verse before, I think it was Momi’s story, the girl who claimed that “mujhe dua mangna aata hai”. She falls in love with a guy and then things change. I don’t know the title of the book, because I have extremely poor memory when it comes to book titles.

I asked my trusted search engine (not Google, my sis) and she responded within a moment. The title of the book is Darbar-e-Dil. My short, spoiler-free review is here. I will try to read it again and review at length, Insha Allah.

Darbar E Dil/دربار دلDarbar E Dil/دربار دل by Umera Ahmed
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Most of Umera’s stories give you goosebumps. This one did, too.
This was one of the novels that I read in digest, and waited patiently for the next issue to come.

A beautifully written story, with just the right amount of curiosity. It kept me hooked. And I like how she played with the names. Okay, not saying much or it will ruin the books for those who have not read it yet.

Do read.

“Mujhe dua mangna aata hai.”
