Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is a 2018 Pakistani drama serial. It is produced by Momina Duraid under their banner MD Productions. It aired on Hum TV and became an instant hit with veiwers and became one of the most iconic dramas in Pakistan television history.
The drama is based on the novel Daasi Dholan Yaar Di by Faiza Iftekhar. I have read the novel and totally loved it. You can read the review here.
When the drama was announced, I checked out the promos. They looked great and the cast was brilliant. I decided to pass. I did not want to ruin the memory of a perfectly written novel. However, it is loosely based on the novel. While it retains the essence of the novel, the story line, the characters are changed drastically from the novel. It still offers a lot of social messages, twists and the satire, romance and the heartache.
