Ehraam-e-Junoon Episode 3 Written Update & Review

So, Shanzay has eyes for Shayan. Given how rude and obnxious Shayan had been to her, she has meticulously planned for a way to get his attention.

She orders a pizza, Shayan comes to deliver only to be told that:

“Madam is asking you to come inside.”

The guard is obviously in on the whole game. Shayan reluctantly goes inside to deliver the pizza. Yet again, he is like: I am not impressed by your monies. And, Shanzay is like: wow, you are so amazing.

As Shayan steps out, his bike is gone. To make up for this, Shanzay buys a new bike for Shayan, because that is the MOST logical thing to do. Shayan reluctantly agrees to take the bike.

Back at the pizza house, the boss is so nice that he announces mithai distribution from his side for Shayan’s new bike. Allah aisa boss har kisi ko de, ameen. Shayan’s best friend at the pizza house, who seemingly has no other work execept lending advice to Shayan, asks about the new bike. He even asks Shayan to take the rest of the day off, because new bike is such a huge thing that calls for celebration and a day off, apparently. By the way, do we know the friend’s name? Itna important character hai, naam toh batao, yaar.

At Shayan’s home, Sajeela and her mother have come. Both are being super-nice while only one of them is genuine (the maami, not the girl). Sajeela and Nadiya start preparing for Biryani. It made me salivate because beef is banned again here in my city, and biryani is just…just the name makes me salivate.

Anywho, so Jugnu calls Shayan home, and everyone is super thrilled to see the new bike. While most are genuinely happy, Sajeela is sarcastic.

Sajeela: “Thank the customer who bought you the bike, bring her flowers. Who know, tumhari setting ho jaye… When that happens, tell me. Perhaps, we could be back to being friends.”

Yeh kis qism ki ladki hai?

~

So, Shayan gets to thinking. He decides to meet Shanzay and thank her. This makes Shanzay think that her plan is working. Shayan is very courteous and polite this time, and ends up giving his CV to Shanzay.

And that’s the episode.

Review

Now, we wait for Shanzay to “create” a vacancy for Shayan, kyunki she’s like, yeh wala mujhe chahiye, har qeemat par.

Let’s wait to see what next episode brings us, even though this episode has left a bitter taste in my mouth because of both the leading ladies. One is pursuing the hero, the other is pushing the hero away, both are being problematic in their approaches.

Does anyone find Neelum’s eyes a bit… what’s the word I’m looking for… weird? She looks like a manequin who can’t bat eyelids. Aisi badi badi aankhein, and not necessarily in a good way.

~

Sajeela’s behaviour is a bit confusing. I mean, how could she suddenly find Shaani so repellent? He’s the same person she would find excuses to talk to. I came up with four possible reasons.

  1. She doesn’t like Shaani, and she is mighty pissed that she saw the relationship as a friendship while Shaani has planned for their future together.
  2. She wants to marry a rich guy, which Shaani isn’t.
  3. She is a sadist and seeing Shaani hurt amuses her.
  4. The taunts and sarcasm about Shaani’s low-paying job is a way to instigate Shaani to work harder and make a name for himself. Some writers go that route.

I’m kinda confused between the bottom two (sadist vs veiled motion), but if I had to, I would put my money on the last one.

All said and done, I’m still intrgiued by the story.

Chalo, phir milte hain.
